Starlight Six Drive-In

It's been a little disappointing to try and find Rockabilly events that don't conflict with my Sabbath keeping. Today I think that changed! The Starlight Six Drive-in on Moreland Avenue is having a Drive-In Invasion set for Sunday October 10th. Yeah!! Jason and The Scorchers, The Fleshtones, and the Psycho DeVilles, to name a few, are all going to be playing. I'm very excited to say that Curt has given the okay to attend. I still don't think I'll get him in a cool bowling shirt, but at least he's agreed to go. Starlight Drive-In you rock!!

Dutch Monkey Doughnuts

Curt and I were driving to a friend's house when we spotted Dutch Monkey Doughnuts. It was well past the time for them to be open, but we both liked what we saw. He liked the sound of fresh doughnuts and I liked the idea of a cool new t-shirt. So this morning I headed over with my friend Christina a bought a Lemon Meriangue for me and a box to take to Curt. The doughnuts are not the overly sweet kind that you get everywhere else. Actual effort was put into the creation of my doughnut. Lemon curd, puffy doughnut and sweet meriangue on top. Perfect! As for the t-shirrt, I was disappointed to find out they didn't sell them in the shop. Now I need to get  on their website and order one of my very own : )
